Biography

Jimmy Avingayoak is an Inuvialuit artist from the small community of Tuktoyaktuk, NT and originally born in Cambridge Bay, NU. Avingayoak is a humble man that draws and carves for the elders. Avingayoak started drawing from an early age and later started carving on animal bones such as caribou bone, antlers and whale bones. Looking at the people or the vast land in the Inuivaluit Region of Tuktoyaktuk, NT, he finds inspiration in the small details and moments.
