Biography

Madeline Ivalu is a filmmaker, executive producer, director, writer, actor, cultural advisor and musician based in Iglulik (Igloolik), NU. In 1991 she co-founded Arnait Video Productions, a filmmaking and video collective composed of Inuit and non-Inuit women, and remains an active part of the collective today. She has also been an integral member of Isuma Distribution International Inc.’s film and video productions. Ivalu has co-directed several award-winning films with long-time collaborator Marie-Hélène Cousineau, such as “Before Tomorrow/Le jour avant le lendemain” (2008) and “Uvanga” (2013). Her latest film, “Restless River” will be released in fall 2019 and is co-directed with Cousineau.View Long Biography and Citations
