Biography

Mosesie Kolola was a Kimmirut, NU-based artist born on the land in the Northwest Territories (now Nunavut). He was a prolific carver, his work appearing in seminal exhibitions across Canada, including “Grasp Tight the Old Ways: Selections from the Klamer Family Collection of Inuit Art” at the Art Gallery of Ontario in 1983 that travelled nationally for two years. His work is held in many public collections, including the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, ON, and the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, QC. Kolola was elected to the Board of Directors of Canadian Arctic Producers Co-operatives Ltd. in 1974 and 1978.View Long Biography and Citations
