Biography

Ohito Ashoona is a sculptor from Kinngait (Cape Dorset), NU who is a part of a family of renowned artists. Learning to carve from watching family members for years, Ashoona took to carving as a young adult and depicts northern animals, Inuit and shamans and spirits from Inuit myths and traditional beliefs. His work has been shown across Canada and abroad and sits in the public collection of many impressive institutions.View Long Biography and Citations
