Biography

Papiara Tukiki was born at Nuwata, an outpost camp in Nunavut, and spent her childhood on the land. These formative years continue to inform her art practice, depicting animals and landscape in large-scale drawings and prints. Working out of Kinngait Studios, Tukiki has been featured in the Cape Dorset Annual Print Collections since 2004, and continues to be highly prolific, working alongside younger artists. Her work has been exhibited internationally, and is held in numerous public collections, including the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa, and the Brooklyn Museum in New York.View Long Biography and Citations
