Biography

Victoria Kakuktinniq is fashion designer originally from Kangiqliniq (Rankin Inlet), NU, and now based in Iqaluit, NU where she has opened her store, Victoria’s Arctic Fashions. First learning traditional Inuit sewing and design techniques, Kakuktinniq went on to study fashion design in Winnipeg, MB emerging with a unique fusion of styles. Winner of the 2015 Nunavut Trade Show’s Business of the Year award, Kakuktinniq's designs are sought after throughout Canada. Her work has also been featured in the Inuit Art Quarterly as well as in FLARE magazine. In February 2019, Victoria's Arctic Fashion showcased their spring collection at two Paris Fashion Week presentations.View Long Biography and Citations
