Biography

Jobie Weetaluktuk is a filmmaker, writer and editor based in Montreal, QC. He works primarily in documentary film but has also produced short experimental works. His first documentary film, "Qallunajatut: Urban Inuk" (2005) screened at over twenty venues internationally and was awarded the Rigoberta Menchu Grand Prize at Montreal’s First Peoples Festival. Weetaluktuk’s films navigate how Inuit cultural heritage contrasts and informs contemporary Inuit communities while continuing to address the ongoing effects of colonialism.View Long Biography and Citations
