Biography

Verna Taylor is a carver and painter from Tuktoyaktuk, NT. She is the daughter of the well known Inuvialuk carver Bobby Chicksi Taylor and sister to William Taylor. She has been carving for over 20 years and her father taught her at a young age. She enjoys creating works based on stories and abstracting to translate the story. She makes a wide range of works from animals, to people drum dancing and crib boards out of soapstone. Taylor has been a part of the Great Northern Arts Festival since the beginning and her work is well known within the Arctic regions.View Long Biography and Citations
